Biography
Anna Calleja (b. 1997, Malta) is an artist whose work explores the dissonance between love and grief, memory and longing. Drawing from personal archives, both real and constructed, she reimagines archetypes and narrative tropes within the language of figurative painting to analyse the present. Her technique relies on a tentative balance between order and disorder in the painted surface. Calleja studied Fine Art at Falmouth University and has exhibited widely in both solo and group shows across the UK, Europe, and the US.
