Herbal Remedies is a group show of four contemporary artists and includes sculpture, painting, and works on paper.
Each series of work in this exhibition was undertaken during periods of personal reflection, convalesce and healing – both emotional and physical. The subjects portrayed are all humble plants, real and imagined. Their depictions share a stoic restraint and quiet beauty.
Each in their own way, these artists are exploring the healing properties of plants; not in the literal sense, but as subjects for their artistic practice - transferring the medicinal power of plants into an artistic milieu.
