Beth Holmes reviews two new shows at Liverpool’s Walker Art Gallery: Under a Hot Sun – the first solo show by Kathryn Maple, winner of the 2020 John Moores Painting Prize – and New Works at the Walker, which showcases artworks the gallery has acquired over the last ten years.
