David Hockney - Install overview image

Hockney has remained a committed printmaker throughout his long and distinguished career, which now spans over 60 years. He first embarked on lithography in 1954 and began making prints in earnest when he discovered etching in 1961, while studying at the Royal College in London.

Willing to experiment with the latest techniques and materials available to him, the artist’s approach to printmaking has been consistently innovative. This exhibition includes the full range of Hockney’s graphic works – from his earliest etchings to his most recent innovations with iPad technology.
