The gallery opened its 2019 exhibition program with a group show of horticultural prints and works on paper whose restrained, subdued colours and natural subjects reflect the quiet radiance of the beginning of the new year. Selected works included well-known still life etchings by David Hockney, linear botanical lithographs by Ellsworth Kelly and delicately coloured, hand-painted prints by Kiki Smith. Prints by established artists were interspersed with carefully chosen works with a muted palette by a number of the gallery’s artists.
'I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it: the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show. ' - Andrew Wyeth
