Time Magazine: Miles Aldridge Shoots Game of Thrones Cast

Artist and photographer Miles Aldridge shot the cast of HBO’s Game of Thrones for Time magazine’s July cover.

Miles has enjoyed a prolific career of film and magazine asignments spanning almost two decades, refining a distinct style. Amped, indulgent colours and a decadent veneer of beauty combine with filmic drama and an eerie, complex subtext. Aldridge often cites David Lynch as an early influence, as well as his father Alan Aldridge, who was a pshychedelic and surreal illustrator in the sixties.

Here Aldridge’s surreal, high-perfection manniquin-like portraits, romantic in their opulence but inherently distant and cold, convey an uneasy fantasy world of complex characters and underlying tensions.

In May 2016, we launched the new business with a pop-up show of Miles’ polaroids on Jermyn street, St. James, and we have exciting projects in the pipeline once we move into our permanent space later this year.
