Blouin Artinfo | Damien Hirst, Peter Doig & More at Lyndsey Ingram, London
Opening later this month is a colorful group exhibition at the Lyndsey Ingram gallery. “My Favorite Colour is Rainbow” features the graphic works of eight celebrated artists, at the gallery’s London venue from February 21, 2018.
The exhibition presents a group show of graphic work exploring the color spectrum, featuring contemporary artists — Polly Apfelbaum, Damien Hirst, Peter Doig, Anish Kapoor, Ian Davenport, Olaf Nicolai, John Giorno, and Mel Bochner. It looks at the technicolor side of prints, which are often monochromatic. All of these artists make work with a full range of colors and techniques. The show explores the complexity and creative possibilities of printmaking. Technically, it is much more difficult to make color prints than black and white because the artist needs to combine different inks and matrices.
