Lyndsey Ingram are delighted to announce a dedicated presentation of prints by Helen Frankenthaler (1928 – 2011) for their booth at TEFAF Maastricht, marking a significant moment for the artist’s graphic works in Europe.
The presentation centres on a group of exceptional prints created from 1979-1996 with master printer Kenneth Tyler that come directly from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation. The works Frankenthaler made at Tyler Graphics during a period of collaboration that spanned 26 years reveal the same experimental spirit and technical ambition that define her paintings.
This also marks Lyndsey Ingram’s second participation at TEFAF Maastricht, following its debut in the fair’s Showcase section last year; in 2026, the gallery steps into the main fair with this booth, dedicated to one of the most important artists of the 20th century, underscoring its growing presence on the international stage with focused, rigorously conceived fair presentations.
The works selected highlight Frankenthaler’s extraordinary innovation in printmaking, particularly evident in unique monoprints such as Spring Run I, from Spring Run Series, 1996, a work that exemplifies her painterly freedom on paper. Also notable are the beautiful intaglio Sure Violet, 1979, All About Blue, 1994, a lithograph and woodcut, and Flirting with Stone, 1985-90, the lithograph which relates to the monoprint, Spring Run I, 1996.
Commenting on the presentation, Lyndsey Ingram said: “As a gallery that works primarily with female artists, it is an enormous privilege to present the work of one of the most important figures of the 20th century. We are also delighted to work directly with the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation which made the presentation of these important works possible for TEFAF.”
