Lyndsey Ingram presented two exhibitions focusing on ceramics by British artists.
The first show was a group of newly-made plates by London painter Suzy Murphy. Miurphy took a short sabbatical from her painting practice to make a series of one-of-a-kind plates. Each of these was moulded by hand and then painted with motifs that appear throughout her paintings. This is Murphy's first concerted endeavour with ceramics and the gallery is delighted to be showing them for the first time during London Craft Week.
The second show saw the return of Somerset-based artist and potter Richard Pomeroy, with a presentation of his hand-built, vibrantly coloured porcelain vessels. Each piece starts life as a beaker. Pomeroy adapts and moulds this modest, functional form into a myriad of artful objects and receptacles, with vivid coloured glazes and traditional Japanese kintsugi.
The exhibitions run until the 25th May.
